The Insula Felix ETS Foundation organizes a workshop dedicated to the interpretation and reinterpretation of the medieval past that took place in Lombardy during the 19th century.The workshop is aimed in particular at students enrolled in undergraduate and master’s degree programmes, postgraduate specialisation schools, and PhD programmes in the fields of art history and conservation/restoration.

In order to highlight the importance of bibliographic sources in art-historical research methodology, each meeting will begin with the analysis of one or more excerpts from texts preserved in the Library of the Insula Felix ETS Foundation.

The two introductory sessions will be held by Prof. Edoardo Rossetti:

  • 13 January 2026 – L’invenzione del Medioevo: ritrovare il passato nel primo Ottocento
  • 20 January 2026 – Cesure, distruzione e riutilizzi: spoglia medievali e Ottocento

The other meetings will take place on the following dates:

  • 17 March 2026

The seminar will be held at the Library of the Insula Felix ETS Foundation, Via Gabrio Serbelloni 9 (Milan), from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
